Making Memories to Last A Lifetime
As I once read, “life is a beautiful collage of priceless moments and memories, which when pieced all together creates a unique and treasured masterpiece.” How will you and your family create a “masterpiece” together? Grab your camera, and follow the list below of many places and experiences I’ve enjoyed with my family.
CANDY TIME: Roll down the windows and smell the chocolate begin to tickle your nose and taste buds as you approach the magical candy land of Hershey Park! Custom chocolate bars and whirl whizzing roller coasters, it doesn’t get much sweeter than that.
PARK PLEASE: Grab a picnic lunch, and head to Verona Park or the Regatta Playground at South Mountain Recreation Complex. Without kids, stroll along the path, rent a paddle boat, and enjoy the peaceful feeling of nature.
TASTING TIME: Looking for a mini weekend escape with your significant other? Head out to the North Fork of Long Island for a little wine-tasting adventure. Over 40 wineries and different breweries are located along the North Fork wine trail. Amazing restaurants like the North Fork Table and Inn and quaint Bed and Breakfasts are the perfect place to create lasting memories.
DINNER ROUND THE TABLE: Does the thought of cooking a healthy meal stress you out? Why not hire a natural foods chef, like Elyse Prince Personal Chef & Caterer, who will take you on a culinary adventure with a hands-on cooking party. Choose a mouthwatering menu and be guided through its preparation and then sit down to enjoy your labor of love.
AMERICA’S NEXT TOP CHEF: Do you or your children like to watch the Food Network Chopt, Chopt Jr, Master Chef or any of the other shows? Karan Fisher of Montclair Culinary Academy offers innovative, creative, and healthy farm to fork classes for children and adults. They even offer a family class.
THE BIG APPLE NATIVE STYLE: Take it from a boy who spent the first 4 years of his life living in NYC… Billy Johnson Playground rock slide in Central Park at 5th Avenue and 67th Street is a hidden gem. After watching your children whizz down the slide, head west through Central Park towards Schmackary’s Cookies located at 45th Street & 9th Avenue. The cookies really are “lip-schmackin” good with over 65 flavors including gluten free options!
TIME TO CREATE: Have you ever made a glass mosaic? Are you looking to channel your inner Picasso? Glassworks Studio in Morristown, a make-your-own glass fusing studio, allows budding artists to design one of a kind glass masterpieces.
SHORE THING: Jumping the waves, building sand castles, or strolling the boardwalk, some of our favorite summertime memories have been made at the Jersey Shore. Take a day to visit Asbury Park and stroll the Boardwalk while listening to the music performers practicing at the Stone Pony or escape overnight and head farther south to Stone Harbor or Cape May.
