Please briefly summarize your life's journey, highlighting the significant chapters and pivotal moments.

As a young person, I was always seeking ways to be creative & to perform: I loved reading, creative writing, acting in commercials and school plays & singing at open mic nights. I lived in New York City during college, delving into any interesting classes I could take at Columbia/Barnard and pursuing PR & marketing internships downtown. Marriage and motherhood completed me and gave me the deepest sense of purpose as I am also a giver and nurturer and couldn’t imagine loving anything more. While I was pregnant and during the early years of motherhood, I started a fashion/lifestyle blog and maintained it for five years, winning international accolades and recognition. Simultaneously I studied to become a speech language pathologist. Fast forward to the pandemic, and my 3-5 year-old therapy clients couldn’t sit still on Zoom (and neither could I), so I explored the current landscape of digital marketing, and BAM, L Studio Media was born. The rest is history.

What lessons did you learn about yourself throughout your journey?

I learned that if I truly enjoy what I’m doing, I am the hardest worker, endlessly curious, and motivated to keep growing and advancing.

What motivates you to keep going during difficult times?

The knowledge that it’s always hardest right before a breakthrough. Like the U2 song, “Why the Dark Before the Dawn,” - I also feel strongly that I’m helping people with what I’m providing, so pushing myself to keep going will lead to being able to help more people & at the end of the day, that’s why I’m here. And anything difficult affords me the opportunity to learn and grow, another thing I truly love doing.

How do you define self-care, and what does it look like for you?

Self-care, for me, looks like a healthy balance of spending time with others and also recharging in solitude. As I’ve gotten into my 40s, I realized that I (surprising to many) am an introvert at my core and need that quiet to turn my brain off, read, meditate, and come out with renewed creativity.

What's your greatest Mom Hack that you have learned thus far in your motherhood journey?

My mom hack is to lean into the love languages of my individual sons and nurture them in the ways that they need to thrive. My older son loves to connect through speaking and spending quality time together doing activities and traveling. My younger son is a big time cuddler and I often find myself as a play partner, throwing baseballs, playing tennis/badminton and biking. When I can help fill their cups I find we have less stress in the house overall. And a lot more connection and happiness as a family unit.

What is one lesson or piece of advice you would like the community to learn from you?

It’s never too late to start a business or turn a side hustle into a full-time career- passion overrides age time and time again!

Why do you think it's important for mothers to share their journeys and inspire other mothers?

We are designed to seek out others who have similar experiences as us. This is because we are seeking to create a tribe of others that we feel aligned with.
